The first spy video shows multiple instances of the long-anticipated Toyota Land Cruiser 300 standing on a closed parking lot somewhere, likely near its production site.
There has still been no official premiere, but we know what the next-gen Cruiser looks like thanks to abundant spy photos. The overall body proportions are still recognizable, although some details are different. For one, the radiator grille is now even larger than before. For another, the squinting headlights now sport dynamic LED turn blinkers (you can see them work in the video).
The newcomer will preserve its ladder frame construction while benefiting from new engines. The old 4.6-liter petrol V8 may make room for a more efficient 3.5-liter engine rated at 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW) and 356 Nm (263 lb-ft) of torque assisted by an electric motor with 180 PS (177 hp / 132 kW). A 3.3-liter diesel option is also expected, as is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 of the Lexus LS 500 rated at 415 PS (409 hp / 305 kW).
The current-gen Land Cruiser 200 has been in production for 14 years now. When the new model comes out is anyone’s guess at this time.
