Watch the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser launch 0-100 km/h

Toyota seems to have forgotten all about its brand-new Land Cruiser model a mere week after the announcement. Luckily for us, a fresh video shows the full-size SUV use its 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 to sprint from standstill to one hundred kilometers per hour.

The new mill produces 415 PS (409 hp / 305 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque, making it 20 PS (20 hp / 15 kW) more powerful than the retired V8 it replaces. As follows from the video, it has plenty of thrust, too – the car manages to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in seven seconds flat. The manufacturer-rated time of 6.7 seconds seems attainable, too.

One important point to note is that the car isn’t just more powerful than before, but also lighter. The switch to a new mechanical platform helped it shed around 200 kilograms (441 lbs).

Depending on the market, the LC300 will also ship with a smaller petrol V6 mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. A hybrid is also high on our list of expectations.
