Russian tuner unveils an expedition-ready Land Cruiser 200

The new Toyota Land Cruiser may be all the rage today, but the older 200 model is going to stay with us for a while longer. Seizing the opportunity, Moscow-based tuner Khann International has released a customization plan for the LC200 named ‘Expedition’.

The Russian company is largely known for its sporty-looking kits for premium Toyota and Lexus vehicles, but its latest project emanates a rather more adventurous spirit. It combines aesthetic modifications with utilitarian ones and serves to improve the overlanding capabilities of the SUV considerably.

Starting with the exterior, much of the bodywork gets modified or outright replaced. This includes the wheel arches, the front bumper with the grille, and the wheels. Ten-spoke black rims shod in all-terrain rubber occupy the wheel wells now. Additional lighting facilitates nighttime driving, a snorkel helps wade water, a spare wheel safeguards you from getting stuck out in the open, and plastic guards all around reduce body damage. The suspension looks much taller than stock, but the company provides no details.

Powering the Expedition is a 5.7-liter V8 petrol engine, but you can specify a 4.5-liter V8 turbo diesel instead. Whether either is tuned is not mentioned.

As you probably know, the new Land Cruiser 300 is not coming to the market until a year or two later due to the ongoing supply crisis, so Khann International could make a killing selling these kits in the meantime.
