Inkas puts some armor on the Toyota Land Cruiser 300

Canadian armored vehicle manufacturer Inkas – which specializes in cladding regular SUVs in bulletproof armor – has worked its magic on the new Toyota Land Cruiser. Pricing has not been revealed, but you can order a conversion of your own Land Cruiser right now (all trims and powertrains are supported including GR Sport).

Inkas claims BR6-level protection for all vehicle occupants, which implies the capability to repel sustained 7.62mm rifle fire and withstand the explosion of two DM51 hand grenades, among other things.

The base specification provides ballistic protection for the engine bay, which includes isolating the battery and the ECU in their respective armored shells. Suspension, door hinges and other key structural elements benefit from reinforcements, and tires are swapped out for a set of Runflats.

Paying a premium nets you heavy-duty brakes, a fire extinguishing system, loudspeakers for communication with the outside world, off-road wheels, and more. Engine power upgrades are not mentioned this time around.

Inkas says it will soon reveal another armored SUV based on the same platform, the Lexus LX 600.
