Toyota Land Cruiser 70 goes on backorder Down Under

Who would believe that the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 would be in such high demand nearing the end of its fourth decade on the market?...

The practical SUV is smashing through popularity records in Australia right now, but unlike a few years ago, the manufacturer can no longer keep up with the orders due to the supply chain disruptions accumulated in the Covid era. Dealerships nationwide are forced to put all new orders on halt until all issues are sorted out.

In Australia, the LC70 is available with only one drivetrain based on a 4.5-liter V8 turbo diesel rated at 205 PS (202 hp / 151 kW). It costs 67,400 AUD there, which roughly equals $46,800. The same model is also being offered on African, Middle East and South American markets, but dealerships there haven’t reported any such issues recently.
