A 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport is up for sale in Russia right now for what roughly amounts to $316,000 USD – double that country’s MSRP. The reason? It is a highly customized example built by Arctic Trucks.
The tuner filmed a story about this off-road upgrade program in December last year (see video). The AT35 spec includes reinforced suspension with new struts and braces, which enables the installation of 17-inch wheels shod in 35-inch all-terrain tires. The result is am SUV with 270 mm (10.55 inches) of ground clearance and excellent overlanding performance.
Elsewhere, the buffed off-roader has skid plates, flared fenders and rugged bumpers. Arctic Trucks usually paints its trim pieces to match the rest of the exterior, but this project is apparently an exception – perhaps because the GR Sport spec comes with its own black trim parts.
A winch, a snorkel and a Webasto engine pre-heater all ensure that the car doesn’t get stuck in the middle of nowhere. The brakes are likewise upgraded, and some of the bodywork benefits from protective wrap.
Powering the build is a 3.4-liter turbo diesel rated at 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. A ten-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels. We do not know how fast the modded LC 300 is, but the stock car accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 7.8 seconds and ultimately reaches 210 km/h (mph).
