Toyota had to pause the production on most of its industrial sites in Japan for 10 days due to an alleged lack of third-party supplies, but the issue has now been resolved. The hiatus has affected the production schedules of the latest Land Cruiser and RAV4, among others.
The reason was an explosion that went off in one of the kilns of Chuo Spring, Toyota’s suspension spring provider. The company was forced to halt all operations for the duration of an investigation into the incident and its reasons. It has now resumed production.
Toyota had halted assembly on 13 lines across 8 facilities in Japan, but they are running again now. The company does not reveal how the delay may have interfered with its delivery schedules.
