Toyota Land Cruiser 76 facelift debuts in LHD version

When Toyota revealed the updated Land Cruiser 76 earlier this year, it only showed us the right-hand-drive version for Japan (see video). Now, the SUV has finally been updated for most of the rest of the world.

Compared to its predecessor, the newcomer sports LED-based round headlamps, but otherwise stays recognizable. It draws its power from the same 2.8.-liter turbo diesel that powers the latest Land Cruiser LC Prado J150 and Hilux, getting 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission directs the momentum to the wheels through a part-time AWD system.

According to Toyota, the car produces 30% less emissions compared to the old 4.2-liter 1HZ diesel engine. It is officially Euro-4 compliant.

Interior highlights include an up-to date steering wheel, a new gear selector, a 4.2-inch dash screen and a 6.7-inch infotainment display.

Like before, international humanitarian organizations continue to be listed among the main buyers of the Land Cruiser 76. The UNO has already ordered a large batch of left-hand-drive cars for its purposes.
