Toyota shows the left-hand-drive Land Cruiser 70

The Toyota Land Cruiser 70 facelift originally debuted this summer with the steering wheel on the right. Only now has a LHD version been announced for the Arab markets.

The facelifted SUV looks the same overall, but there are certain quirks. For one, customers in the Arab countries will be able to opt for a new sand-colored interior trim. Even more importantly, they get an optional three-door variant of the Land Cruiser 70 that’s only 4,235 mm (165.5 inches) long. This shortened version may become the sales leader in its segment.

Powering the Middle Eastern Toyota Land Cruiser is a six-cylinder petrol engine known as the 1GR-FE. It produces 228 PS (225 hp / 168 kW) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque. The standard manual transmission is still available, but – for the first time on record – the buyers can choose a 6AT instead.
