A Porsche car enthusiast from the USA needed a practical off-roader in his garage, so he picked a 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 for restoration. Being a fan of the Stuttgart brand, he couldn’t help stylizing it a bit after his source of inspiration.
Among other things, the SUV ended up with an Agate Grey body finish, front fender vents and Porsche-style quarter panels at the rear end. Inside, the door panels were trimmed to resemble those of the 911 and the eco-leather seats were adorned with what looks like Pepita fabric inserts.
And then there are technical upgrades. The stock engine made room for a modern 6.2-liter LS3 V8 sending 435 PS (430 hp / 320 kW) to all four wheels by means of a six-speed automatic transmission. The suspension received new springs and Fox Racing shocks, and the steering mechanism was upgraded with a modern Red Head box for sharper handling. A rearview camera and a trailer hook were added, and the light bulbs all around were replaced with modern LEDs.
How do you like this mild styling attempt?
