The second generation of the hydrogen cell-powered Toyota Mirai sedan was announced last fall; today, it showed up on public roads, indicating that the launch is coming soon.
The 2021 Mirai still wears a thick layer of disguise wrap that nonetheless permits us to discern its flat and long hood, front bumper with a wide deflector attached to it, and the overall body outlines being pretty much the same as before.
The cabin gives off strong Lexus LS vibes, up to the gold trim on the dashboard instruments.
According to the manufacturer, the second-gen Mirai has 30% more range. In numeric terms, this should mean an increase from 500 kilometers (310 miles) to approximately 640 km (400 mi). The engine power stays unchanged at 153 hp (114 kW).
New additions include a 12.3-inch infotainment display and a high-end JBL audio set.
