A 32-year-old, first-generation Toyota MR2 is up for grabs in Great Britain right now with only 2,200 kilometers (1,367 miles) under its belt. The asking price is £34,995 (41,800 USD), putting it on par with the new base-trim RAV4 Hybrid.
The car has belonged to one owner from Northern Ireland, who barely drove it and kept it nearly pristine. In 1989–1990, the company gradually introduced the second generation of the coupe, meaning this one was one of the last first-gen examples made.
Back in 1984, the Toyota MR2 debuted as Japan’s first mid-engined production car (see video). It had a 1.6-liter 4A-GE engine that was available in naturally aspirated and boosted forms. This one has no boost and makes 122 PS (120 hp / 90 kW) along with 143 Nm (141 hp / 105 kW). Launching it to 100 km/h (62 mph) succeeds in eight seconds.
