The Toyota Prius hybrid is wildly popular worldwide, a fact that apparently even prompted Liberty Walk to fit the model with an in-house designed body kit. The Japanese tuner mostly deals with vehicles that are both larger and more expensive, making this case a remarkable exception to the rule.
The kit itself is classical Liberty Walk fare, which basically means it looks grotesque and over-the-top, but still kinda cool in its own way. Only the latest generation of the Prius liftback is supported. Included are revised aprons (both front and rear), new side skirts, window-mounted deflectors, a front spoiler and a ducktail rear wing. Interestingly, the tuner’s trademark fender flares are missing from the kit.
The entire kit costs U.S. $5,070, but you may pay another $1,700 for height-adjustable springs or $7,900 for full-fledged air suspension.
The Toyota Prius project by Liberty Walk offers no powertrain upgrades, perhaps due to the engineering challenges commonly associated with tweaking hybrid systems.
