A particularly rev-happy Toyota Prius hybrid is currently being prepared for launch by Gazoo Racing, Carscoops reports citing own sources. It may have as much as 306 PS (302 hp / 225 kW) at its disposal, like the RAV4 PHEV.
In case you forgot, the plug-in hybrid version of the RAV4 utilizes a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine in tandem with two electric motors.
Toyota has yet to comment on any of these rumors, but they have been circulating for a while now. In its present-day top spec, the Prius hybrid makes 223 PS (220 hp / 164 kW). It sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.7 seconds.
Aside from superior power, the Gazoo Racing version will most likely get other racing-friendly upgrades such as performance brakes, stiffer suspension and improved handling.
