The Japanese Team ACP have lived their long-standing dream by completing the famous Paris-Dakar rally track on a hybrid-powered Toyota Prius.
The team assembled back in 1979 and took its first Prius to the track in 1997. Ever since, they have been testing various hybrid vehicles in the most extreme conditions found on the five continents.
The Toyota Prius has covered a total distance of over 7,000 kilometers. According to Team ACP, they were very lucky indeed to have a mobile power generator at hand. It allowed them to use an electric stove and other appliances that make a traveler’s life easier.
In an earlier news, the Team Tesla Powered race organized by RWE took place a month ago. Its participants drove Tesla Model X’s all the way from Budapest, Hungary, to Bamako, Mali.
