The design of the Tesla Cybertruck is polarizing at best, with as many critics as fans, but one thing is certain: the hype will stay high. People will continue building crazy replicas and boasting their skills, just like YouTuber Cyber Hooligan did this weekend.
The owner did not bother going for full semblance. Living in sunny California, he probably just wanted an open-top custom ride with unmistakable Cybertruck vibes – and little else. He took a Toyota Prius C and had its body completely redone using relatively lightweight and practical aluminum panels.
He also had to shorten the frame slightly and push the control arms a bit to the front so that the front axle could be closer to the bumper. These measures assured at least a fair degree of similarity with the Cybertruck at the front end; walk over to the side or the rear, and the illusion vanishes.
The Priustruck, as the owner lovingly calls it, houses its hybrid traction battery in a special compartment behind the seats. Found farther behind it is a small trunk area. A set of off-road wheels shod in matching tires round off the build. As different as it may be from its source of inspiration, it is still very nicely executed, wouldn’t you agree?
