Toyota RAV4 Hybrid users in the USA complain about small fuel tank

The buyers of the latest Toyota RAV4 Hybrid in the United States have accidentally discovered that their cars only fit 50 liters (13.2 U.S. liquid gallons) of gas instead of the promised 66 l (17.43 gallons).

This is not the only issue the customers have stumbled into, apparently. Among other things, they mention that the effective driving range is as small as 730 kilometers (454 miles), while the manual states 930 km (578 mi).

Toyota has already confirmed the issues, stating that they only concern some of the hybrids produced in the USA, rather than all of them.

This leaves two possible explanations: either wrong parts were used during the assembly, or erroneous specs somehow made it into the technical passport.

Toyota said it would come back with solutions shortly.
