Mitsuoka Motor reveals pricing, specs of its Chevy Blazer lookalike

Mitsuoka Motor Company has shared the specs and prices of its first crossover SUV, the Buddy. The car comes based on the latest Toyota RAV4 platform and costs between 4,697,000 and 5,899,300 Yen in Japan. Fifty units will be made in total.

The car was announced last month and looked like a tribute to the classical Chevrolet Blazer, especially at the front end with its large radiator grille and chrome stripes. In turn, the vertical taillights at the rear remind of the Cadillac SRX. The tailgate now bears the tuner’s name, and customers are invited to choose from eleven single-color and six bi-color finishes.

At 4,730 millimeters long, the Mitsuoka Buddy is 130 mm longer than the RAV4. It is 1,865 mm wide, 1,685 mm tall and has 2,690 mm of wheelbase. The road clearance varies from 190 to 205 mm, and the wheels are available in sizes between 17 and 19 inches.

The powertrains are standard RAV4 fare. There is a two-liter naturally aspirated four-pot with 171 PS and 207 Nm of torque that links to the Direct Shift-CVT and either FWD or AWD, and then there are two hybrids: 2.5L @ 218 PS and a 222-PS variant with an added RWD motor.

The interior is virtually identical to the RAV4, with eight- and ini0inch infotainment touchscreens, cruise control, panoramic roof, AEB and lane control listed under equipment.
