Japanese car giant Toyota held a presentation event centered on its next-generation RAV4 crossover at the first press day of the New York International Auto Show. The vehicle enters retail in the USA towards the end of the year, with a hybrid model getting released in 2019.
The new Toyota RAV4 has quite a few improvements over its predecessor model. In particular, it now takes advantage of the modular TNGA K platform which, the manufacturer claims, should make its bodywork considerably more rigid.
The next-gen 2019 Toyota RAV4 hits the U.S. market with a 2.5-liter V4 engine. Its performance remains undisclosed, however. As for the hybrid model, it should get a 2.5-liter IC engine and a single electric motor.
