Toyota Supra Super GT debuts in Japan

A conceptual Toyota Supra racecar purpose-built for the Super GT Championship has celebrated its premiere at a dedicated event in Japan. The new vehicle will replace the Lexus LC competing in the GT500 category starting in 2020.

Compared to the non-GT Supra, the concept sports a revised body kit that comprises massive side skirts, a fixed rear wing, an enormous diffusor, fender flares with gills cut into them, and front bumper canards.

The interior of the track-ready vehicle has been stripped down to the racecar minimum, which includes the steering wheel, the controls, the roll cage and the seats.

The Super GT Concept isn’t going to be the only true racecar in the revived Toyota Supra family. A NASCAR vehicle meant for the Xfinity Series Division will premiere in Daytona, USA in a month.
