New Toyota Supra racecar scheduled for Geneva reveal

Toyota Motorsport GmbH will reveal a Toyota GR Supra GT4 racecar prototype at the upcoming 2019 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.

The car comes with an advanced roll cage, Brembo performance brakes, reinforced axles, limited-slip differential, and an aerodynamic kit consisting of a front splitter, a rear wing and a front diffuser.

Among other things, the Supra racecar sports a rapid refueling system alongside an explosion-proof fuel tank. Its hood conceals a BMW B58 inline-6 turbo engine with a dedicated racing-grade ECU chip. Interestingly, the engineer team settled on an 8-sped automatic transmission for the car – quite an unusual choice, given that semi-automatic and sequential transmission types traditionally dominate the GT4 category.

You will be able to see the new Toyota GR Supra GT4 in action during the 24 Hours of Nurburgring on June 22-23, 2019. Individual teams will be able to acquire the vehicle later.
