Around three weeks ago, the team over at CX Racing announced it was working fast on a power upgrade for the 2019 Toyota Supra (A90). But now it seems like the tuner won’t be the first to release a performance-tweaked new Supra after all. Taito Saito, a professional drift racer and part of the Monster Energy team competing in the D1 Grand Prix, has boasted his own 800-hp / 600-kW Supra build.
The details are scarce, but it is obvious that multiple companies have collaborated on the project. Little wonder, if you consider that their purpose was to create an extremely capable and safe drift car for professional use.
The tuned-up Toyota Supra 2019 (A90) features a Pandem Rocketbunny wide body kit, racing-grade suspension, reshaped axles to facilitate making sharp turns, Endless performance brakes with carbon/composite discs and a roll cage.
As for the engine, the tuner threw it away and installed the old-and-trusted 2JZ turbo V6 of the old Supra in its place. It then went through the entire ordeal of squeezing 800 hp / 600 kW out of it.
The interior of the vehicle has been stripped of all and sundry, save for some basic controls and a single seat.
