VIDEO: Stock Toyota Supra vs. tuned one

The new Toyota Supra keeps gaining popularity among tuners the world over. Real Street Performance has recently joined the club with its own version – and even set up a race, pitting its modded Supra up against a stock one.

According to the dyno tests, the tuner persuaded the standard 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine to output 448 hp (334 kW) and 648 Nm (478 pound-feet) of torque. This represents a substantial improvement over the factory-guaranteed 340 hp (254 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). RSP says all it did was tweak the ECU, swap out some exhaust components and install grippier tires. As a result, the tuned Supra does a quarter-mile run a full second faster than the stock one.

Toyota also has quite a few new Supra trims in the works, some of them potentially stronger than this custom build.
