In December last year, German tuner Dreihundert showed us an early version of what it called “the world’s fastest street-legal Toyota A90 Supra”. Today, the Stage 1 is officially complete and brings 781 PS (582 kW) to the table along with 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of maximum torque.
The main advantage of the kit is that it keeps the sports car’s road-legal status, despite giving it nearly twice the stock power. Included are a BorgWarner EFR 8474 turbocharger, an electronic pressure control system and an all-new exhaust system. The engine gets a plethora of further mods, including forged pistons, cylinder heads, camshafts and more. A water/ethanol injection system called Aquamist unlocks the full efficiency of the upgrade.
The eight-speed automatic gearbox stays stock, but the tuner will be releasing a Stage 2 kit in the foreseeable future, which will feature transmission improvements and 1,000+ (745+ kW).
