Toyota Supra Mk4 enjoys some top-notch modding

The rise of the Fast & Furious franchise has cemented Toyota Supra’s reputation as an iconic Japanese sports car. You’d be challenged to find a low-mileage example today, and one just went under the hammer for an eye-popping $250,000 USD. Even high-mileage ones casually go for around $50,000. Quiz time: how much do you think the owner of the gorgeous Supra shown here handed over for it? Half a million? If only!

Tyler Graff was lucky to have a father who owns the Lowell Auto Body shop in Colorado, USA. He negotiated the deal and acquired the car for laughable $8,000, after which restored it to peak driving condition. The coupe sports a refreshed body and kit, a new hood cover with four air vents, and CCW 505 A wheels measuring 19 inches across at the front end and 20 inches at the rear. After all was said and done, the 1993MY coupe took on a factory-new appearance.

The cabin was stripped of everything not strictly needed for racing, leaving only two bucket seats, a safety cage, and a steering wheel trimmed with carbon fiber and Alcantara. The stock engine received a Garrett turbocharger and went up to 400 hp (300 kW). A special three-gear automatic transmission was implemented to guarantee adequate drag strip performance.

The Graff family ended up with a vehicle that would be welcome at any show and any auction. Having said that, Tyler is determined never to sell the icon he was able to get for only $8,000.
