We all know how new and used car prices had skyrocketed over the past two years, and the trend continues with a 28-year-old, Targa-bodied Toyota Supra fetching $299,800 at an auction.
The car has a pristine record and is completely stock with no aftermarket modifications or track day usage. Since 1993, it has only covered around 15,500 kilometers (9,638 miles).
Being a Targa, the model sports a removable top and lacks the trademark Supra rear wing. Found under the hood is the legendary 2JZ-GTE six-banger rated at 320 PS (316 hp / 235 kW) in tandem with a six-speed Getrag transmission. The seller highlighted the manual gearbox as one of the biggest selling points of the car, and far be it from us to think otherwise.
A similar Supra, but a few years younger and with even less mileage under the belt, sold online for $201,000 USD this summer. The highest a fourth-gen Supra was ever bid to was $550,000, but that specific example starred in the earlier Fast & Furious movies (see video).
