As sad as it may be for Toyota fans to admit, the new A90 Supra loses out to the new BMW M4 in raw acceleration due to its lackluster engine. But what if we were to boost the two to be more or less on par?
SamCarLegion’s latest video provides some insight into this matter. The inline-six engine of the Supra gets a much-needed boost of 100 horsepower and 150 Newton-meters of torque. As a result, the car now has 440 PS (434 hp / 324 kW) at its disposal.
The BMW is still considerably ahead in the equine force department (510 PS / 503 hp / 375 kW), but has the same torque and weighs nearly a quarter of a metric ton (500 lbs) more. Will that difference play the decisive role on the quarter-mile strip, or is the new Supra simply inadequate for the challenge? Watch and find out!
