All Toyota Supra sport cars are renowned for their exceptional tuning potential, with the Mk4 being especially receptive to extreme mods squeezing 1,000 hp or more out of the stock engine. The new A90 Toyota GR Supra proved a harder example to work with, but it finally attained that height thanks to Titan Motorsports.
As you probably know, the fifth generation of the Supra inherits much of its tech, including the inline six-cylinder engine, from the BMW Z4. This gives it 388 PS (383 hp / 285 kW) and very little flexibility in terms of tuning.
In order to circumvent the limitations of the engine, Titan Motorsports used its own performance components such as an intercooler, an intake manifold and a flex-fuel system, as well as a single large Precision turbocharger.
When everything was installed and tweaked, the Japanese coupe hit the dyno with 1,010 PS (996 hp / 743 kW) and 1,203 Nm (887 lb-ft) of torque. As far as we know, this is more than any other tuner has managed to squeeze out of the stock B58 engine so far. The transmission stays unmodded, and sprint times remain to be measured, but we suspect this Supra has no qualms about running a quarter of a mile in nine seconds.
