Same engine, different results: BMW 1-Series vs. Toyota Supra

As you probably know, the latest Toyota Supra comes powered by the same inline-six BMW engine as the M140i, among other Bavarians. This begs the logical question: which one is faster?

The video here aims to provide a detailed rundown. Neither of the cars is stock, but the tuning is relatively mild and almost identical where it matters the most. The Supra benefits from a cold-air intake system, an Inconel exhaust and an engine software upgrade. This enables it to hit the wheels with 466 PS (460 hp / 343 kW), a healthy improvement over the factory-side 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW).

Going up against it is an M140i fitted with a larger-diameter downpipe, an M Performance exhaust system, and a stage II tuning kit. The power output is completely identical to that of its rival, per the owner.

The video follows the two cars through a number of standing and rolling drag races, and most of the time, they manage to stay quite close near the finish. However, results differ enough for you to decide on your favorite. Which one is it going to be? Venture a guess and watch the races!
