Toyota sheds light on its ultra-rare GT4 Supra racer

The track-focused Supra GT4 100 Edition was announced this spring, but the details had remained secret until now. Only three total cars will be built for the United States, Europe and Asia, each priced from €220,000 (on par with Ferrari Roma).

The special edition will boast aerodynamic improvements that should result in more efficient engine bay cooling and increased downforce. Aside from that, the car will get redesigned LED lighting all around and side mirrors with carbon covers, Toyota says. The exterior will wear a Plasma Orange paint.

Inside, the driver and the co-pilot will get identical racing seats. There will be special embroidery all around and badges saying ‘1 out of 3 – 100 Edition’.

The base for the special edition is a track-only GR Supra GT4 Evo, which gets its inline six-cylinder engine boosted to 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) and hooked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The exhaust system is also new and purpose-built specifically for the 100 Edition.

Importantly, none of the cars will be homologated for any particular racing standard, meaning their owners will only be able to participate in private events and track days.
