Toyota reveals another Supra pic, announces Goodwood debut on July 12

Japanese car manufacturer Toyota has published another teaser photo of its next-generation Supra sport car on its official Twitter page. It has also scheduled the premiere for the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Great Britain on July 12, 2018.

It is uncertain whether we will see a production-ready version of the vehicle or a camouflage-cladded test mule.

The new Toyota Supra will be based on the same architecture as the BMW Z4, which has been jointly developed by Toyota and BMW over the past four years. It will feature an all-carbon body and thus weigh in at just 1,400 kilograms (around 3,085 lb). There will be no manual transmission this time around, only automatic or semi-automatic.

According to some preliminary data, the flagship coupe will ship with a choice between a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine capable of 245 hp / 183 kW and a 3.0-liter V6 rated at 330 hp / 246 kW. All engines in the Supra series are provided by BMW.

Once out, the sporty vehicle will occupy a market niche just above the GT86. Buyers will be able to select among four trim levels: Basic, Supra GR, GR Sport and Supra GRMN. The characteristics and pricing are going to vary greatly between different levels.
