Car giant Toyota has come to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with a vehicle from its revived Supra series. The car took part in a demonstration run, but still wore the test mule camouflage as it did so.
The new Toyota Supra will have the “front-engine, rear-drive” engine layout. The standard modification will get a V6 engine capable of 340 hp (254 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb·ft) of torque – most likely made by BMW, although there is no official confirmation yet.
In its most basic version, the Toyota Supra will get a 2.0-liter turbocharged V4 with 250 hp (186 kW) and a DCT box. Actually, the entire family will be getting DCT for transmission. Two more variants, a hybrid and a top-spec GRMN will go on sale later, but their characteristics aren’t being discussed yet.
The vehicle will debut under the badge of Gazoo Racing, Toyota’s performance subdivision. Prices are being kept secret so far, but it has earlier been revealed that the new Supra will be priced above the GT86.
