Toyota uses WWI camo for its new Supra series

The test mule of the revived Toyota Supra series comes clad in impervious camouflaging film, the likes of which used to be applied to battleships in the 20th century.

According to an official press release issued by the Japanese car manufacturer, similar patterns adorned battleships that participated in the First World War. The camouflage prevented the enemy from seeing the precise dimensions and shape of the naval vehicle from a distance.

Apart from the fancy camo suit, the new Toyota Supra also flaunts the trademark racecar livery of Toyota’s Gazoo Racing subdivision.

The test mule debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. Once the revived car series rolls out into the streets, it will dethrone the current flagship model, the GT86.

Preliminary data indicate that the vehicle will ship with a six-cylinder BMW engine rated at 340 hp / 254 kW.
