The U.S.-based car workshop ProSpeed Autosports has unveiled a custom modification of the Toyota Supra equipped with an 8.6L monster of an engine capable of exerting up to 2,500 hp (1,865 kW). The company posted an official video on its Facebook page showing the extreme dragster in action.
The engine for the new Wasabi Supra has been designed and produced by Arrow Machine, another U.S. company. It received a control unit, a 106-millimeter (4”) turbocharger, and a dry-sump lubrication system. The motor works in conjunction with a 3-speed automatic transmission.
ProSpeed Autosports released another dragster vehicle – one based on the Toyota Prius – in spring earlier this year. The Japanese hybrid car got a 6.2L V8 engine with over 800 hp (600 kW) own performance.
