Toyota Tacoma gets a flashy SEMA show makeover

Toyota has teamed up with the 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine to turn a regular Tacoma truck into a heavy-duty expedition vehicle.

The one-off uses the Tacoma TRD Pro base and builds upon it with heavy-duty suspension springs at the rear, a lift kit, under shields, and a TRD Desert Air snorkel.

Further additions include stainless-steel bumpers at both ends, a winch, BOSS Aluma 2.5 Series shocks, BFGoodrich tires, additional LED lights on the roof, a Yakima SkyRise truck bed, a jack, a PowerTank PT10 air compressor, Rotopax fuel and water canisters, and a rear diff lock.

The team used a Magnuson TVS1900 supercharger to push the 3.5-liter V6 up 93 horsepower and 88 Newton-meters to 375 PS (370 hp / 276 kW) and 447 Nm (330 lb-ft) total.
