A while ago, Toyota mentioned an intention to revive Chinook styling of the 1970s-era motorhomes using a modern Tacoma pickup as the starting point. As it turns out, the company brought just such a car to the ongoing SEMA show in Las Vegas.
The Tacozilla may look retrospective for the most part, but aggressive body trim and TRD off-road components betray its modern origins. The suspension is more robust than before, the ground clearance higher, there are additional lights on the roof, meaty all-terrain tires, and a winch.
Found inside are a full-fledged kitchen, comfortable beds, a bathroom with a shower, hot water and WC, storage boxes, and much more. As it stands, the Tacozilla is just a show car with no production prospects at this time – but Toyota has been known to mass-produce its concepts when it received enough positive feedback.
