FLEX Automotive (Japan) has unveiled its latest project: the Toyota Tacoma Renoca Windansea. The goal was to endow the modern truck with vintage charms and offer it for sale in North America.
Starting with the third-generation Tacoma, the tuner gives it a brand-new front end reminiscent of Toyota designs from the second half of the 20th century. The hood becomes flatter and the wheel arch outlines in the front fenders look new.
Elsewhere, the pickup flaunts a black radiator grille instead of its usual chrome grille and new round headlights in black housings. The turn indicators and sidelights reside in their own, separate sections. A set of vintage-looking wheels rounds off the styling.
To make the truck viable off the trodden path, the tuning company offers a selection of rugged body kits, suspension lifts and mud tires. The interior can be re-trimmed and equipped with a new multimedia system if necessary. The stock 3.5-liter V8 stays stock, still sending 282 PS (278 hp / 207 kW) and 358 Nm (264 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels via a six-speed AT.
