Toyota has only recently begun uncovering its next-gen Tundra pickup, and the latest trio of images focuses on the cabin.
The one detail that stands out the most is a new infotainment screen that now supports Apple CarPlay. Hovering above the torpedo, it reminds us of the Land Cruiser 300 display – unsurprisingly, since both cars share the same technological platform. Then again, it is likely that the teaser images show us the maxed-out trim level, while the standard spec is much humbler than that.
Also visible on the first photo is a steering wheel with a red 12-0-clock mark. JBL audio speakers can be seen at the a-pillar bases.
Engine-wise, we expect the 2022 Toyota Tundra to ship with a 3.5-liter V6 TT rated higher than the 386 PS (381 hp / 284 kW) of the current eight-cylinder. The Land Cruiser 300 comes with a six-pot capable of 415 PS (409 hp / 305 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. Toyota also promises us a hybrid powertrain, but does not reveal any details right now.
The launch date remains to be announced.
