Toyota has complemented the third-gen Tundra truck lineup with a new top trim called Capstone, which combines luxurious fit and finish with hybrid power. Prices are pending, but a tall premium seems unavoidable for what is on the menu.
The exterior of the Capstone is awash with chrome details, the giant hexagonal grille is new, the tailgate has a large ‘Tundra’ caption on it, and the wheels come sized 22 inches across – the largest the pickup supports in its OEM guise.
Continuing the list are automatic running boards, solid wood accents in the cabin, a glowing special edition logo, perforated leather trim, a panoramic roof, and acoustic glass all around.
Powering the U.S.-spec Tundra Capstone is a hybrid system capable of 443 PS (437 hp / 326 kW) and 790 Nm (583 lb-ft) of torque. A ten-speed automatic transmission drives the wheels.
