The new Urban Cruiser Taisor marks Toyota’s cooperation with Maruti Suzuki and is styled as a compact-sized, coupe-like crossover utility vehicle. It’s based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx model and starts from 774,000 Rupees.
The car is under four meters (13.12 ft.) long and has a distinct radiator grille, new front bumper and wheels, and exclusive light patterns. The rest of the exterior and the cabin correspond to what we have already seen in the Fronx. On the upside, the Taisor comes in a much wider variety of trims to choose from, including two-tone combos.
Both models utilize the same engines. Your first option is a basic 1.2-liter four-cylinder mill rated at 90 PS (89 hp / 66 kW) and 113 Nm (83 lb-ft) of torque. The other option is a 1.0-liter turbo capable of 100 PS (99 hp / 74 kW) and 148 Nm (109 lb-ft). The naturally aspirated mill can be obtained with an optional 7-speed DCT, while the turbo can be optioned with an AT. Both can be had with a simple 5-speed MT. All-wheel-drive is not on the list.
In terms of options, customers in India can get a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, surround view cameras, HVAC, wireless chargers and a heads-up display. Maxing out the trim bumps the price to 1,304,000 Rupees.
