The Japanese carmaker has released a video starring its GR Yaris in a test. No details were provided.
One possibility is that the company will be launching a limited edition soon. Another one is that the car depicted here is actually Toyota’s rally vehicle for the upcoming 2020 season.
Compared to the standard Yaris, the mysterious newcomer sports wider fenders, a new radiator grille, and a custom rally-oriented body kit.
Chances are good that the GR Yaris gets more engine power and all-wheel-drive, although this is not official. In its current form, the hatchback ships with a 1.8-liter engine rated at 209 hp (156 kW).
Toyota had originally planned to unveil the GT Yaris at the Rally Australia on November 17, 2019, but the race was cancelled due to wildfires raging through the continent.
