Japanese racing driver dials the Toyota Yaris GR up to 11

The premiere of the 261-PS Toyota Yaris GR caused many ripples in the fan circles, with some people reaching out for their credit cards and others thinking how they could further improve the hot hatch. Nobuteru Takaguchi fell into the latter category.

The renowned racing driver came up with an over-the-top body kit for the Yaris, which included humongous new bumpers with a front splitter and rear diffuser, side skirts, sharply outlined fender flares and an enormous rear wing. Note also the tine side mirrors that almost become invisible with the new kit on.

The Yaris got to keep its OEM engine, but received more boost pressure and a new exhaust system. As a result, its power output rose from 261 to 350 PS (257 – 345 hp; 192 – 257 kW, respectively). To ensure proper racetrack dynamics for the model, the tuner ditched the rear seat row and replaced the front row with Bride bucket seats. Endless RH9 wheels filled out the arches with Advan tires, and a flashy HKS Co. Ltd wrap rounded things off.
