YouTuber km.77 has posted the results of yet another sudden obstacle evasion test, starring the newest Toyota GR Yaris this time around. The outcome is frankly quite amazing!
The driver underestimated the dimensions of the car at first and hit some cones by mistake, but the second attempt went impressively smoothly: the compact hot hatch easily went the entire course at 80 km/h (50 mph) without hitting anything. It touched a cone at 81 km/h (51 mph), but still got a high commendation for its performance.
In the end, the testing crew found the sported-up Yaris an excellent car to avoid collisions in, besting the VW Golf, the BMW 1 Series, the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S and even the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. Its performance was deemed on par with the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupe and just a little behind the leader, the Tesla Model 3 with its evasion-ready speed as high as 83 km/h (51.6 mph).
