One might expect the Yaris GRMN to win in a drag race against a Yaris GR, but make them different generations and all bets are loose.
The two supermini cars actually have serious technical differences, the most notable of which is the powertrain. The old model is FWD only, while the new one benefits from an AWD system. Trying to outrun an AWD car on an often rain-soaked track in Great Britain can be daunting for 2WD drivers.
The GRMN evens things out somewhat by being 145 kg (320 lbs) lighter than the GR and packing a larger 1.8-liter four-cylinder turbo instead of a 1.6-liter three-pot. But will it be enough to best the GR? Watch the video and find out!
