Swiss tuner Trackparts has rolled out an extensive upgrade program for the Toyota GR Yaris, landing it with a new aero kit, wheels, suspension and engine tune.
Let us perhaps start with the wheels. Titan 7 T-S5S rims measure 18 inches across and 9.5 inches wide, and are meant to be used with negative cambers of up to 3.5 degrees, preventing tires from excessive wear and tear. The tires in question are Yokohama A052 semi-slicks sized 255/35 R18.
Öhlins suspension components tested on a DTC test vehicle at the North Loop ensure superior traction and handling at all times. Endless brake components provide adequate deceleration, while FH-Fischer stainless-steel brake lines enhance braking precision.
The interior loses 33 kilos (70 lbs) thanks to new carbon-fiber bucket seats and removed equipment. An innovative lithium battery helps shed another 15 kilos (33 lbs).
Last but hardly least, an external ECU ramps the output of the stock turbocharged three-pot up by 40 hp (30 kW) and 54 Nm (40 lb-ft) of torque. The hot hatch now delivers 301 PS (297 hp / 221 kW) and 414 Nm (305 lb-ft), which makes it a capable track day car you can rely upon for a few victories.
