Video: Italian tuner rolls out a 382-PS Toyota GR Yaris for track days

The Toyota GR Yaris is a prime alternative to the likes of the Volkswagen Polo GTI and the Ford Fiesta ST, surpassing most competition in power and weight at the same time. This week, car customizer Scara73 (Italy) turned the hot hatch into something even more special.

As you may remember, the GR Yaris rocks a three-cylinder turbo engine capable of 261 PS (257 hp / 192 kW) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque. One may think the figures are already ridiculous for a tiny mill with 1.6 liters of displacement, but Scara73 claims it has found a way to boost it to 382 PS (377 hp / 281 kW) and 540 Nm (533 hp / 397 kW). Even weirder, it calls the upgrade a ‘chip tune’. Would it be really possible? We have no way of finding out right now, but it surely sounds extreme.

Elsewhere, the GR Yaris rocks lowered suspension with carbon fiber struts, a sports exhaust system, improved oil and water cooling, and a carbon fiber air intake system. The car rides on NTM SC73 Forged rims and appears as track-ready as ever.
