Have a chuckle at this Toyota Yaris WRC Hybrid parody

The next-year World Rally Championship will be the first one to welcome a competition category called Rally1. The regulations require all participant cars to be powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine within a hybrid system rated at 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW). Someone felt like designing a ‘funny car’ based on a Toyota Yaris WRC matching those requirements.

The less-than-serious Yaris has plenty of deliberately crude mods, such as a whole battery of floodlights on the hood, plastic bottles serving as side air intakes, and grotesque boxy fender flares made of heavens know what material. There is even an electric shock warning on the side, apparently also just a silly joke.

But what really brings the video to life is the skill of the driver, who is definitely very experienced and puts the silly-looking Yaris through its courses like a pro. In addition to a short race, the video focuses on the process by which this Funny Car was brought to life.
