After two months of exceptionally lively sales on the domestic market, the Toyota Yaris Cross finally goes on sale in other countries as well. Starting on November 2, pre-orders will be open in Australia, and Europe should receive it well before the end of the year.
The SUV comes based on the TNGA-B architecture of the Yaris hatchback. Being 4,180 mm (13.71 feet) long, it is being marketed a notch below the Toyota C-HR.
Customers are invited to choose between a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine worth 118 PS (116 hp / 87 kW) and a hybrid composed of an IC engine and dual electric motors. The latter option has 116 PS (114 hp / 85 kW) at its disposal and consumes 3.8 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers covered.
The Yaris Cross features E-Four AWD, a system that adds another electric motor to the rear axle rated at 5.3 PS (4 kW) and 52 Nm (38 lb-ft) of torque.
Current prices start from the equivalent of U.S. $19,222.
