YouTuber JohnnyQ90 has posted a video where he tells us how he managed to equip a toy car V8 with a fully functional mechanical supercharger. The process demanded considerable skill in scale replica modding.
The author admitted that the manufacturer offered the supercharger kit as an OEM option for the engine end bought it to raise the power output of the car. Despite compatibility claims, he ended up having to modify it before fitting. In the end, though, the engine started normally and sounded like any supercharged mill on a muscle car does.
JohnnyQ90 said he still needed to tune or otherwise replace the carburetor due to its poor performance at higher revs. He also intended to replace the drive – which is currently implemented as a single belt running through all parts – with a more sophisticated and genuine design.
