A video went viral on YouTube showing an incident that happened in Ohio on January 23. A snow plough travelling at highway speed ejecting snow in the wrong direction caused 47 drivers to crash their cars.
There are two videos from the site, one showing the plough itself and the other one with some of the damaged cars standing at the roadside. Apparently, the driver had his snowblower funnel facing the wrong way, causing all the dirt, snow and debris cleared from its driving lane to jet-stream onto the oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. Drivers ended up losing sight of the road, crashing into barriers and/or sliding into ditches. It did not help that the oblivious driver was running his machine at a highway speed.
Reports are coming that 12 people needed hospitalization after the incident. The driver was suspended, taken into custody, and is currently being investigated for DUI.
